Wilesco steam engine D21:

Noble beauty in red and black

The D21 steam engine is a power engine with a double-acting, fixed brass cylinder.

The technical specifications are the same as those of the D 20, but the special color scheme is worth highlighting, which gives this machine a particularly elegant finish:

All metal parts are painted black and red. The flywheel is also painted red. This special machine is rounded off by highly polished brass parts.

A special technical feature is the built-in feed water pump, which is only found in the D21 steam engine within the Wilesco range.

Water pump allows refilling during operation

This water pump allows the boiler to be refilled with water while the steam engine is running. The condensate is drained into a condensate tray below the chimney, causing the chimney to steam. The steam outlet on the D21 can be manually regulated using a steam shut-off valve. The engine is powered by our dry fuel Witabs; one load of Witabs is sufficient for approximately 10-15 minutes of steam fun.

From the first firing up of the steam engine, it takes about five minutes for sufficient steam pressure to build up and the engine can be started. The D21 then has enough power to drive several models. This allows you to vividly observe the conversion of heat into kinetic energy. It's also especially fun to have the D21 generate electricity and light by connecting the separately available Dynamo M66 or Dynamo with Lantern M66/2!
