Model steam engine with upright boiler

The D3 is the smallest dry fuel steam engine in the Wilesco range and still relatively new in our repertoire.

Its distinctive features include its upright, highly polished brass bowl and oscillating cylinder. Thanks to the upright bowl, our D3 model has a base measuring just 16 x 12.5 cm and a bowl capacity of 50 cm³. This model can be powered by one of our smooth-running drive models.

The red baseplate and black boiler house are made of printed sheet steel. The elegant appearance of this model alone is a true feast for the eyes!

The two sight glasses indicate the water level. Where the glass of the water level indicators is fogged up, there is no water present. The clear part of the glass allows for easy reading of the water level. When the water tank is full, the D3 requires short breaks in operation to build up sufficient steam power again. Once the water level is halfway down, continuous operation with the characteristic noise is no longer an issue.

Please oil your D3 particularly well at the beginning; the engine's speed may be a bit lower during the first few runs. Once the piston has run in, the engine will really get going!
