Space-saving steam engine D14

This stationary model is a space-saving steam engine. The D14 is the only one in Wilesco's model steam engine range that comes with the engine mounted on the boiler. The 140 x 55 mm boiler with a volume of 250 cm³ and the heavy 80 mm diameter flywheel ensure a powerful operating time per boiler filling. This model, heated with our Witabs solid fuel, also boasts a particularly long running time. During operation, the engine purrs like a Swiss clockwork and runs virtually vibration-free. The dome steam whistle – operated via a small lever – allows you to coax sounds from this engine during operation. Because the condensate is drained into a condensate tray below the chimney, real "smoke" (steam) emerges from the chimney, giving the whole operation a very authentic touch.

Please always ensure that the steam engine is not started without sufficient water in the boiler; the water level must always be visible at least at the bottom of the sight glass.

Tips for operating your Wilesco D14 power machine

Regular oiling is also necessary when there is no steam pressure in the boiler and the model has cooled down. To do this, unscrew the oil filler screw and fill with WILESCO steam engine oil. Rotate the flywheel several times to suck in the oil. We recommend oiling the D14 every time you fill it with fuel to prevent the piston from seizing. Experience has shown that 2-3 drops of Wilesco steam engine oil are sufficient for approximately 10 minutes of operation. All bearings and joints should also be lightly oiled to ensure a long service life for your D14 and continuous steam fun.
