The D161 steam engine is a medium-sized workshop. The color scheme of the base and engine plate, combined with the black boiler, gives the workshop a nostalgic look. This steam engine workshop presents a diverse range of mechanics in a compact manner within a very small space: The Wilesco D161 workshop consists of a model D16 steam engine with a steam shut-off valve and centrifugal regulator, combined with a transmission, a dynamo, a lantern, and a forge hammer. The speeds of the flywheel and the installed drive models can be controlled via the steam shut-off valve.

To visualize the generated steam power, the D161 workshop is equipped with an angle transmission and two permanently installed drive models:

• Dynamo with lantern M66/2
• Blacksmith's hammer M58

Our steam engine workshop is easy to operate, making it suitable even for beginners. Watching it is fun for children and adults alike, and soon you'll have whistling and hissing sounds throughout the house.

The steam engine workshop was completely redesigned for its 2019 relaunch:

The color of the base and engine plate has been changed from blue to green. The boiler of the D16 is now painted black.

Whereas previously three workshop drive models were permanently installed on the D161 plate, you can now design your workshop scene more flexibly: The included M50 angle transmission allows you to easily connect any additional drive models.

Thanks to the built-in dynamo with lantern, your Wilesco workshop will now always be well lit.
